Little kind actions

Studied at my usual weekend bucks outlet today. Liwen, being the sweetest girl she has always been, gifted me with a whole box of durian puffs to cheer me up from my lousy grades, and encouraged me to work harder- which was so, so sweet and nice of her :-) :-) We were so afraid those around us will scold us for the strong durian smell though hahaha we tried so hard to cover up the smell!!! I was really touched by her thoughtfulness though :-) Oh and I finally got my hands on sea-salt caramel mocha frappe yaaaaaaaaay I waited for a full year for its comeback ok I love it!!!!!! I've no idea why anyone will dislike it. *looks at friends that ew-ed it*

Anyway, while we were studying, a barista approached us and brought us 2 BIG CUPS OF ICED WATER after asking if we were tired after a whole day of studying omg we were so surprised!!! It was extremely kind of him to have done so, and we were so grateful ok little kind actions like this completely made our day :-) (You've no idea how much impact two cups of iced water can have on two drained jc students ok)

Thankful x

"...Like a solo car ride that takes all night but feels like a lifetime. Watching all those highway dashes flying by at seventy miles an hour, your eyes becoming lazy slits and your mind wandering over the memory of a whole lifetime- past and future, childhood memories to thoughts of your own death- until the numbers on the dashboard clock do not mean anything anymore. And then the sun comes up and you get to your destination and the ride becomes the thing that is no longer real, because that surreal feeling has vanished and time has become meaningful again."

The Silver Linings Playbook

"Life is hard, Pat, and children have to be told how hard life can be."
"Why?"
"So they will be sympathetic to others. So they will understand that some people have it harder than they do and that a trip through this world can be a wildly different experience, depending on what chemicals are raging through one's mind."

Silver lining: n. A hopeful or comforting prospect in the midst of difficulty.

I am done with The Silver Linings Playbook! I was a little disappointed with it at first, but the second half of the book made so much more sense, it completely made up for the first half. I was so annoyed with it during the first half, because the author couldn't stop spoiling (by that I mean providing a full summary and revealing the twist/ending) other books for me, which was so..... frustrating hahahaha but nevertheless, it was a really good read. The main character in the book (Pat) reminded me very much of Charlie in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, both being such a complicated character and all. I'll leave that for y'all to read on your own :-)

On a side note, I am going to watch the film adaptation now yay!!! Bradley Cooper has always been one of my favorite actors hehehe I can't wait to see how he'll portray Pat! And Jennifer Lawrence is so beautiful omg the only movie I've watched of hers is X-Men First Class though hahahaha but I'm sure she's a really sweet lady (judging from her interviews and also mildly (greatly) influenced by tumblr singing praises of her almost everyday hahahaha). But really---
(Insert millions of heart-shaped eyes emoticon)

Goodnight :-)

My favorite girls in the world :-)

Dinner at wawawa bistro :-)
Chicken cordon bleu and duck confit were both a little too dry and tough though, I actually prefer With A Pinch Of Salt's fish cordon bleu and Saveur's duck confit much better. Espresso creme brulee was refreshing though :-) Jiaai and I loved it.
:-)

Haven't laughed so hysterically in a long time now, missed those girls so, so much.

# Prelims turned out to be a  h  u  g  e  disaster sigh. I am frankly speaking, /really/ upset even though I know I probably deserved those grades. It's time to buck up.

Breakfast at The Muffinry :-)
 Littered with Books :-)
Jiaqi and her love for cook books hahaha
Definitely heading back again soon hehehe it's so cosy there!!! Love how it's a double-storey bookstore hidden among the shop houses along duxton street, we were the only ones in the store other than the staffs there, who were really helpful omg and while we were browsing around, they were just either reading a book or using their laptops, so we could walk around with ease (so much that we even sat on the floor hahahaha). The few hours spent there was so good :-) Haven't soaked myself in the tranquility of books and bookstores in a long time now (insert a satisfied emoticon). Every book lover should definitely visit this place :-)
The Loft for our late lunch! Happy Jiaqi with her buys from Littered with Books yaaay
View from our window seats :-) The food @ The Loft is really average though HAHA
Can't wait to start on the book yaaay
:-) (My eyes are not closed)

Dinner @ wawawa tmrw! :-)
